A Day in the Life An exciting opportunity awaits you to join Medtronic as a Senior Manager leading the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) function across the ANZ business. Based in Macquarie Park with hybrid working arrangements, you will play a pivotal role in leading the execution of the EHS strategy for ANZ, maintaining our EHS management system and ensuring regulatory compliance through targeted risk management aligned with our Corporate EHS strategies, initiatives and goals. Responsibilities may include: Develop and implement an EHS management system that ensures regulatory compliance Implement a targeted risk management program that mitigates illness and injury risks, minimizes environmental impacts Report on EHS performance to leaders and ANZ Board Drive proactive EHS culture within the organisation Collaborate, coach and mentor leaders while driving accountability for EHS performance in ANZ Maintain an effective EHS consultation framework Ensure effective incident investigation and root cause analysis is conducted Strategic oversight of workers compensation process Participate in and lead regional and global EHS projects Support commercial sustainability initiatives Required Knowledge and Experience: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Safety Science or Safety Engineering is highly desirable Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience Minimum of 8 -12 years’ experience Workplace assessment and training qualifications is desirable Sound working knowledge of health and safety legislation in Australia and New Zealand Sound working knowledge of EEO and anti-discrimination legislation and principles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Customer focused Commercially savvy Proven ability to influence without authority Change manager Some domestic and overseas travel will be required Some out of hours work will be required Physical Job Requirements: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.
