About the Role Are you an experienced senior payroll specialist with a passion for leadership and operational excellence? Court Services Victoria (CSV) is seeking a Senior Manager to lead and transform our payroll operations and drive the success of a high performing team. This critical role will lead a team of payroll professionals and work collaboratively across the Courts Group to shape and deliver system improvements that provide a contemporary service to our stakeholders. Your expertise will ensure a timely and accurate payroll execution, whilst driving initiatives that maintain compliance with relevant regulations. Key responsibilities will include: Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists (approximately 7 direct reports), fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Providing authoritative advice on complex payroll and employment matters including interpreting and applying legislation, policies, and procedures, and People Services reporting requirements. Attend Victorian Public Sector (VPS) wide payroll community of practice forums ensuring the function is up to date with market trends and legislative changes. Leading a HRIS system changeover by implementing a fit for purpose solution that is well utilized by the CSV jurisdictions. Accurately maintain a range of records using the CHRIS21 payroll system and other manual and computerized systems and databases. Providing detailed and accurate assurance reporting highlighting clear segregation of duties with strong governance. Work closely with HR Finance and other departments to align payroll practices with organizational goals. About You Demonstrated practical experience leading a payroll team within a complex environment. Ability to drive and implement sustained change both from a cultural and technical standpoint. In-depth knowledge and experience of ANZ payroll calculation and processing, regulations, compliance, and best practice. Subject matter expertise and professional experience in human resource service, payroll, remuneration packaging, and taxation matters (including system knowledge/capability). Extensive experience in using an integrated personnel/payroll system, and the ability to enter, modify and extract data accurately. A high-level understanding of the legislative and industrial framework that applies to Victorian public servants, including the Public Administration Act 2004, the Fair Work Act 2009, and the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020/2024 (highly desirable). Broad knowledge of systems including Chris 21 and SAP success factors and demonstrated experience in projects related to system/HCM implementation (highly regarded). Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related fields.
