About Infant, Child, and Youth Mental Health Services ICYMHS provides tertiary mental health services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (currently the local government areas of Banyule, Boroondara, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra). About the Role The ICYMHS YBIS Team within Austin Health plays a crucial role in providing early, community-based, brief assessment and intervention sessions for young people 12-25 presenting with low to medium acuity mental health needs. As a team member, you will work closely with community partners – headspace, schools, etc. You will be an integral and highly valued member of the multidisciplinary team. You will: Display a clear understanding of and practice in the principles of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and family-centered, collaborative practice and expertise in engaging young people and their families within a range of settings. Provide high quality, evidence-based clinical care at an individual or family-system level as indicated by clinical need within available resources. Work closely and collaboratively with ICYMHS teams and lead partnerships with community agencies and headspaces. About You You will bring: A strong passion and background in supporting mental health and wellbeing of young people and their families. An extensive understanding of recovery-focused care and an ability to work from a strengths-based approach. A willingness to participate in ongoing training and supervision as part of your role. A strong understanding of and connections with community supports and agencies working with young people, their families, and communities.
