Job Description

The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels. Provide strategic policy support to the Family and Sexual Violence Command (FSVC) through high-level drafting, review, research, analysis, and advice across various policy areas. This includes a focus on implementing the Reportable Offender Disclosure Scheme. The role also involves engaging with stakeholders and representing the Department in agency, inter-agency, and national level meetings and briefings, as required. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to: Arson and fire setting; Sexual offences; Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud); Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception); Violent crimes and crimes against the person; Malicious damage and destruction to property; Trafficking of narcotic substance; Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to policy research and development and/or experience in these areas are highly desirable.
