ABOUT THIS ROLE ASD requires a Senior Site Reliability Officer. Senior Site Reliability Officers work closely with development teams to provide (and support) the environment needed to deliver the organisation's services quickly and efficiently, using automation and self-service.ASD requires 1 x equivalent EL1 Senior Site Reliability Officer to developing software, integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software, document technical processes and assisting with testing and deployment. Estimated start date: Tuesday, 01 July 2025 Initial contract duration: 12 months Extension term: 12 months Number of extensions: 2 Experience level: Senior - EL1 equivalent Location of work: ACT Working arrangements: Onsite. Occasional WFH may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis depending on operational need. Interstate based candidates cannot be accommodated. On-Call services may be required during the contract term, depending on operational need. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's PV Validation process prior to engagement. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ASD requires 1 x equivalent EL1 Senior Site Reliability Officer to developing software, integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software, document technical processes and assisting with testing and deployment. Take responsibility for the development of software using a variety of software languages (e.g. Python, Java) and development environments, to ensure it meets business requirements. Deliver scripting using a variety of languages (e.g. JavaScript) and secondary skills (e.g. SQL). Lead the development of software that supports high quality User Experience outcomes. Adhere to and improve software engineering processes. Contribute to and support leadership efforts to improve engineering processes. Identify system inter-dependencies and liaise with other system stakeholders to resolve conflict and coordinate integrated solutions. Work as a leading member of an integrated agile team. Document technical processes. Develop a schedule of work and report on progress. Candidates must have the following technical skills: Effective communications: Demonstrated ability to engage with business areas to understand requirements and negotiate solutions. Demonstrated ability to engage with varied technology service providers to negotiate full-stack solutions across multiple domains. Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and develop junior staff. Demonstrable experience with the following technologies and programming languages: Kubernetes & Gitlab CI Kafka Linux Java Python Demonstrated ability to design technical solutions to meet mission requirements. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage organisational data assists in-line with organisational policy and standard industry practices.
