We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to guide and grow our National Structural Engineering business as Service Leader – Structural. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing our national team of over 60 structural engineering professionals, ensuring the continued success of our project pipeline, and further developing our structural engineering capabilities. As a member of the national leadership team, you will provide both strategic direction and operational support to ensure that we continue to deliver exceptional client outcomes and provide meaningful career growth for our employees. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a service line strategy that supports ACOR’s broader goals, ensuring both short-term success and long-term growth. Operational Management: Collaborate closely with other service line leaders to manage resource capacity and pipeline, ensuring that we meet client demands and successfully deliver projects. Financial and Resource Planning: Optimize the balance between project workload and service line capacity, managing utilization and recovery to achieve financial and operational targets. Team Development: Lead the development of our structural engineering team, creating and executing plans for succession, recruitment, and skill development to support both immediate and future business needs. Market Representation: Act as a senior representative of ACOR, reinforcing our reputation as a leader in structural engineering services, especially within our key sectors such as defence, federal government, social infrastructure, and large-scale commercial developments. About You: We’re looking for a leader with a proven track record in structural engineering consultancy, who can lead a diverse, high-performing team. To be successful, you will bring: Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing complex projects in an engineering consultancy or similar industry. Technical Expertise: An engineering degree (or equivalent), recognized by Engineers Australia, and a strong understanding of the technical aspects of structural engineering. Commercial Acumen: A track record of delivering successful projects with a solid understanding of financial drivers and business management. Collaborative Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally, mentor senior professionals, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence. Industry Reputation: A well-established network and reputation in one or more of ACOR’s key sectors, including defence, federal government, social infrastructure, or large-scale commercial developments.
