Employment Type : Permanent Full Time; 38 hours per weekPosition Classification : Social Worker Level 3Remuneration : $112,396 - $116,038 per annum + Annual Leave Loading + 11.5% SuperannuationLocation : Redfern Community Health CentreRequisition ID : REQ553921About the Organisation Drug Health Services (DHS) aims to reduce the harms associated with substance use for individuals, families, and communities and to prevent drug misuse. Services are provided at Canterbury, Concord Repatriation General, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals and at Canterbury, Marrickville, and Redfern Health Centres. Selected programs offer services in the community and via approved outreach arrangements. The Youth Service provides support and education for young people aged 12 to 25 and their families and/or carers in dealing with complex drug and alcohol-related challenges. The core functions of the multidisciplinary community-based team are: Provide care coordination for young people with drug & alcohol issues, as informed by their professional discipline. Facilitate the development of care plans in consultation with all relevant parties utilizing harm reduction principles and best practice models. Provide referrals for young people with drug & alcohol issues to appropriate support services. Provide support for other staff (mainstream, drug & alcohol, Youth Sector, etc.) in relation to youth drug and alcohol issues. Support education and health improvement initiatives for young people experiencing drug and alcohol issues and develop links and partnerships with other services. The team works in the community setting and aims to provide a safe platform for open dialogue and assists in the development of strategies to empower young people and their families and/or carers in their journey towards recovery. About the Opportunity In this role, you are expected to provide senior clinical leadership within Youth Services, including optimization of patient/client care delivery, as well as supporting the mentoring and development of staff including provision of supervision and direction to Level 1/2 staff and students on clinical placements in accordance with the Award. Ideal Candidate Must hold a Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill, and significant clinical experience in the provision of social work, with experience at Level 2 or higher in the field of Drug and Alcohol and/or youth services.
