Statewide Director of Nursing Older Persons Mental Health Service Older Persons Mental Health involves a unique combination of physical and mental health care. We have a statewide service that provides three regional community teams and a statewide inpatient facility in Hobart. We are in the middle of an exciting Reform that has already improved our services for clients, their families, and our staff. You will have the opportunity to develop active partnerships to support sector integration and client outcomes, develop and implement ongoing quality improvement, and develop and implement strategies to meet current and future service priorities. The Role: The Director of Nursing - Older Persons Mental Health (OPMHS) Statewide is an autonomous senior manager and lead clinician working with the Group Director OPMHS, and under the guidance of the Statewide Speciality Director OPMHS. Providing high-level strategic expertise, specialist advice, and support to the Directors -OPMHS and relevant senior staff in relation to clinical standards, education and training, and the management of significant day-to-day clinical and service-related issues. Assist the Group Director in the oversight of relevant human, financial, and physical resources. Details of appointment: Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $144,146 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Location: Statewide Minimum Requirements: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that leads to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the United Kingdom. Current Working with Vulnerable People (NDIS endorsed) registration. *Registration/licenses that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role, and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. Desirable Criteria: Postgraduate qualification at Master’s preparation level which is relevant to education, management, or leadership is highly desirable for this position. A minimum of 5 years postgraduate employment as a Registered Nurse in mental health or OPMHS. Current Driver's Licence.
