Job Description

Vice President, Deputy Financial Controller New As a Vice President within the Global Financial Controllership Team, the role has a responsibility to assist Aristocrat achieve its short-term business and long-term strategic objectives by overseeing the financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls of the organization. This role will provide strategic leadership in financial accounting, drive operational efficiency, and ensure the integrity of the financial statements. The person in this role will work closely with the SVP – Group Financial Controllership and the Controllership team, senior leadership, and external auditors to maintain robust financial governance and contribute to the company’s overall financial strategy and performance. The role leads a team of 16 group accounting, consolidation, and reporting professionals across Australia, the US, and India and has relationships with key stakeholders globally. As a member of the Global Financial Controllership leadership team, you will drive culture, employee engagement, and stakeholder collaboration, inspiring the team to continue to challenge and transform into an exceptional finance support team. Finally, the role will be key in transforming the statutory reporting and group accounting function to reflect best-in-class practice, reflective of the expected environment of an ASX 20 business. What You'll Do Owner of all Group and subsidiary financial statements , including half-year and year-end ASX reporting. You will ensure timely preparation, review, and submission of financial statements prepared across the group by IFRS and local statutory requirements. Preparation, review, and presentation of Board Audit Committee papers relevant to financial reporting. Accountability for significant/complex accounting analysis to support financial reporting judgments. Oversee compliance with all relevant financial and gaming regulations and industry standards, including partnering with the tax team to ensure tax requirements are met. Drives a strong relationship with both external auditors and the internal audit function , ensuring audit processes are run efficiently and meet the standards expected of an ASX20 business. Continuously improves and ensures ongoing compliance with internal control requirements. Establishes stakeholder relationships across the Group to ensure key matters are understood, communicated, and addressed. Key finance leader in planning for acquisitions/business growth , including supporting acquisition accounting, due diligence, and integration planning. Works in partnership with peers to ensure alignment across the teams and takes the lead on finance-wide initiatives to help drive and maintain broader team engagement and collaboration. Identifies and manages finance risk , including ownership of finance policies on financial delegations, internal controls, and accounting policies, as well as completing reviews on core areas across the team, and being a regular authorizer of multiple global payrolls, bank disbursements, ERP financial dimensions, and global authorization limits. Global ownership of balance sheet reconciliations . Working with the financial accounting teams, regular oversight and review of the quality of reconciliations will be performed to ensure that high-quality reconciliations are prepared and reviewed appropriately, key judgments are appropriately tracked and continuous improvement initiatives are in place. Expert in Corporate Finance , able to discuss and manage risk associated with complex group transactions in partnership with Tax, Treasury, and Legal teams. Leads Group bi-annual governance certification on internal controls awareness and stewardship review. Be a Risk Champion for Group Finance , leading the Group Finance team in assessing and appropriately responding to risks and opportunities. Manage a team of 16 accounting and reporting professionals across Australia, the USA, and India, providing guidance and support as needed. Assist with ensuring close processes are effective and efficient in line with reporting needs, including driving ongoing improvements. Drive a transformation program to modernize statutory reporting processes, including the implementation of new financial reporting systems and driving automation. What We're Looking For * 12+ years relevant experience in a corporate environment, minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role. * Active Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). * BA/BS in business, accounting, finance, or a related field with equivalent experience. * Strong IFRS accounting knowledge is critical. * Experience in a global organization with multi-regional complex consolidation / ASX external financial statements preferred. * Ability to interpret technical accounting judgments and detailed information into a clear, concise, easy-to-understand message to key stakeholder groups. * Driver of team culture, adopting positive leadership and teamwork across geographies and cultures. * Process mindset, willing to challenge the status quo, with high integrity. * Excellent organizational skills and proactive with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including management of multiple projects and deliverables to tight deadlines. * Relationship management and influencing skills.
