About the opportunity This exciting and rewarding position includes providing specialist support for child victims of interpersonal violence. This service provides trained staff to respond 24/7 for victims of violence, abuse, and neglect, including medical forensic care and treatment, working closely with other health staff and external agencies such as Police and Department of Communities and Justice. This position will play an integral part in the expansion of the IVAN crisis response service to rural and remote sites in WNSWLHD. The IVAN Crisis Response Service is in the Integrated PARVAN & Women’s Health portfolio and works closely with the other teams, Sexual Assault and the Joint Child Protection Response Program, the Child Protection and Domestic & Family Violence team and Women’s Health team. WNSWLHD has 4 x 24/7 IVAN Crisis Response Medical Forensic Services and 6 x Sexual Assault Assessment Centres (expanding to 10) and is an exciting team to be part of as there are constant improvements in service provisions, including the ever-changing and exciting field of forensic services. To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria Medical Practitioner registered or able to be registered in Australia, inclusive of an unrestricted or 19AB exempted provider number, and recognised specialist qualifications. Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Paediatrics and Child Health Division. Appropriate knowledge and clinical experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in child abuse and neglect including child sexual assault. Ability to work harmoniously and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and with a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to respond appropriately to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated willingness and ability to lead and provide clinical supervision including the ability to provide education, vision and research would be viewed favourably. Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence-based practice and practice development.
