Collective is looking for Welcome Assistants! Collective is a free contemporary art centre that brings creative new perspectives to the city of Edinburgh.Situated in a heritage observatory, Collective offers a supportive environment for artists at pivotal points in their careers to test out new ideas, produce ambitious and innovative projects, and share their work with audiences.Through exhibitions, commissions, performances, as well as programmes for families and community groups, we create meaningful opportunities for artists to develop, and for audiences to engage with creative practice.Founded in 1984 as an artist-run initiative, Collective now runs from our home on Edinburgh’s iconic Calton Hill.Job title: Welcome AssistantSalary: £12/hrWorking Hours: 7.5 hours per day, 9.30am—5.30pm, with a half-hour unpaid break.Contract: Temporary contract, 2 days p/w, 27th February – 4th May, with potential for extension.Closing date: 5 February, middayWelcome Assistants form our front of house team dedicated to the visitor experience and the everyday running of Collective. The post is for two days per week, working within our team of Welcome Assistants to cover our 5-day operations, Wednesday-Sunday. Additional hours are anticipated to be available and some evenings will be expected from time to time.
