Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Ventia is seeking an experienced Work Planning and Optimisation Manager with a strong background in telecommunications network design and construction to join our team in Sydney . Reporting to the Project Director , you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and resource optimisation of multiple network projects, ensuring seamless execution across a variety of scopes, including: Wideband Design & Construction Optical Fiber Design & Construction Asset Relocation and Contestable Work You will work closely with Project Managers, Finance, Commercial Teams, Subcontractors, Field Delivery Teams, and Governance & Support Teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with safety and quality standards . Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for network design and construction activities. Forecast and optimise resource and material allocation to enhance project efficiency. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align work planning with business objectives. Manage subcontractor work allocation, performance tracking, and compliance . Implement process improvements, automation tools, and data-driven decision-making methodologies. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to work planning, efficiency, and resource utilisation. About You We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented leader with: A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management , or a related field. 5+ years of experience in work planning, scheduling, or operations management within telecommunications network design and construction. Strong expertise in resource planning, workforce management, and process optimisation . Proficiency in work planning software, scheduling tools, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or telecom-specific solutions). Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies . Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
