Job Description
Our client is looking for an experienced AO7 Principal Finance Officer to join their team, contributing significantly to the financial management of the department: 12 month contract Based Brisbane CBD, close to public transport Join one of Queensland's largest Government departments What you'll do: Contribute to the preparation of the department's general purpose and specific purpose financial statements Manage the preparation of reconciliations, corrective journals and working papers to ensure the integrity of the department's general ledger and budget development systems Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, systems, practices and procedures which contribute to improved financial accounting and management practices within the department Provide value adding analysis, and professional and authoritative advice, to the Manager, senior management, business units, clients and customers including identification of issues and concerns, and options for improvement Identify departmental training needs in financial accounting and management, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and training programs to meet these needs Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, maintain and review programs, systems, policies and procedures to support finance functions across the department What you'll bring: Experience with SAP and Excel strongly desired Exceptional problem-solving skills Demonstrated experience in a similar position, ideally in Government About the job: Contract Type: TEMPORARY Specialism: Accountancy & Finance Industry: Public Sector and Government Salary: AUD85 - AUD86 per hour + exclusive benefits programme Workplace Type: Hybrid Experience Level: Associate Location: Brisbane CBD Job Reference: 2038280/001 Date posted: 12 February 2025 Consultant: Daisy Smith Come join our global team of creative thinkers, problem solvers and game changers.
