The Team: The Rapid Assessment Medical Unit (RAMU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital is a medical short-stay (up to 72 hours) inpatient unit. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including a Consultant-led Medical home team, a Nursing team with specialist support from the General Medical Clinical Nurse Consultant, senior Allied Health professionals, and other services or supports as required. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. The Role: Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow. Providing clinical leadership and clear direction to staff so that all have a clear understanding of their responsibilities and duties in relation to their patients/clients and colleagues. You will need: Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in the pursuit of patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols. Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
