Organisation: Department of Premier and Cabinet Occupation: Communications, Marketing and Media Reference: VG/1842373 Job posted: 30/01/2025 Closes: 13/02/2025 Classification: VPSG5 Salary Range: $109,730 - $132,764 An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission as Communications and Engagement Lead. The Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission (the Commission) is an independent body responsible for managing allegations of parliamentary misconduct involving members of parliament, ministers, and parliamentary secretaries. The Communications and Engagement Lead will lead communications and engagement activities at the Commission. The role will have a high degree of independence and autonomy, working in a small multidisciplinary team. The role will work directly with the Chair Commissioner on some tasks including communications, media, and presentations. The role will also have a wide scope of work, including preparation of communications material, website content, engagement activity, education and training, media engagement, and preparation of Commission publications. This role will suit an experienced communications expert who is committed to providing simple, clear, and accessible communications products and to work in both strategic and operational communications to support the functions of a small, independent agency. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to a new integrity commission that aims to improve the standards of behaviour and integrity in the Victorian parliament. About you As our ideal candidate you will have: Highly developed problem-solving and strategic thinking skills including analytical, strategic and critical thinking in relation to communications and media. Excellent written communication skills and ability to communicate in a simple, effective and meaningful way together with experience with visual tools and/or website development. Strong stakeholder engagement, interpersonal, oral communication, and negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with media, senior internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to work cooperatively with team members and external stakeholders and to identify areas for skill building across the team to openly share knowledge and expertise.
