Urangan State High School are seeking applications for an enthusiastic and flexible educational leader to join our executive leadership team as Deputy Principal. Our award-winning school has a population of approximately 1500 students from Year 7 to Year 12. With a focus on implementing the curriculum with fidelity, Urangan State High School have a late start for students every Monday and Friday so that our teachers can collaboratively plan curriculum with alignment and precision. This provides an additional 110 minutes of focused planning time each week to our teachers, improving work/life balance. About the Role In this role, you will be required to lead teaching staff to provide quality learning outcomes for all students, and to contribute to the leadership of continuous school improvement across a portfolio aligned to our school's strategic priorities. As an instructional leader, you will be focused on ensuring all students develop their global competencies so they can transition into their future opportunities with confidence and resilience. As such, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate previous success with strategic and operational skillsets such as: Operational and/or strategic leadership of a timetabling environment that contributes to the efficient achievement of student opportunities and school improvement goals; Leadership of, and contribution to, student pathway planning, monitoring and case management processes; Engaging students and staff in skill development through authentic learning experiences; Engaging with the wider school community to nurture quality positive relationships between students, parents, teachers and stakeholders across the school and wider community; Effective contribution to the management of the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of a large and complex environment to achieve school improvement goals. Responsibilities of the position include: Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Deputise for the Principal when required. Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity. Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
