Principal Recruitment Partner | IT Infrastructure, Cloud and Cyber Security Underground Communications Technician We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Underground Communication Technician to join the dynamic team. 6-month contract, FIFO role with 8/6 roster. Your new company Great opportunity to work for a top tier mining company on an 8/6 roster. Your new role As an Underground Communication Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing communication systems in underground environments. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our clients have reliable and efficient communication networks. Key Responsibilities Assist with installation of radio and Wi-Fi equipment, specifically, but not limited to leaky feeder cabling, Wi-Fi Access Points and radiating cable. Provide support and troubleshooting for the mine site communication infrastructure, specifically radio systems (Tetra Digital, UHF radio) but also the Wireless Network used to ensure safe and efficient operation of these systems. Provide system administration for the Tetra Digital UHF Radio system. Work to ensure reliable wireless communications exist across the mine to allow effective network coverage. Provide hands-on first level support for repair and maintenance of technology hardware. Inspect communications and electronic systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements as well as business needs. Analyse equipment failure trends and recommend replacement equipment and components or continuous improvement projects. Maintain the radio Fleetmap for the Tetra Digital UHF Radio Systems. What you'll need to succeed Previous experience in a communication/systems role. Proficient level of computer skills. Underground communication experience (DAS, Leaky feeder). ACMA Open Cabling ticket with fibre, structural cabling and coax endorsements. Ability to obtain a security installers licence. EWP Ticket (Desirable). Effective written and oral communication skills. Experience working with wireless networks and radio systems.
