EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure. About the Opportunity We are looking to fill multiple Policy and Project Officer roles that will play a crucial part in supporting the work of the Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) across two key branches: Community Benefits and Outcomes and Planning Strategy and Coordination. These roles involve undertaking and coordinating complex projects, providing strategic policy and legislative advice, and supporting high-level cross-agency initiatives that shape the future of NSW energy policy. These opportunities sit within two different Project Delivery teams: Community Benefits and Outcomes This role focuses on ensuring that EnergyCo delivers meaningful, legacy benefits to generate positive economic and social outcomes for local communities impacted by the development of new energy infrastructure. The role also provides strategic advice to inform government programs and policies, helping to shape decision-making that maximizes community benefits. Planning and Policy These roles contribute to the development and implementation of a variety of planning, social, and environmental policies to support EnergyCo in delivering its projects. Across both branches, these positions also provide administrative support to EnergyCo staff, ensuring the smooth implementation of projects, efficient coordination of requests, and accurate reporting. Through their work, the Policy and Project Officers play a key role in shaping the delivery of energy initiatives that benefit communities and align with state-wide planning objectives. About You You are a motivated and proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative environment while having the autonomy to manage your own workload. With strong knowledge of government and planning policies and systems, you are confident in navigating complex regulatory landscapes to deliver impactful outcomes. You excel in balancing multiple priorities, demonstrating a keen ability to manage projects efficiently within condensed timeframes. Your ability to think strategically and provide high-quality policy advice will ensure that your work contributes meaningfully to shaping NSW energy initiatives. With a strong background in project and/or policy management, your ability to coordinate cross-agency projects, engage with stakeholders, and drive social impact initiatives positions you as an ideal candidate for one of our roles. Whether working independently or as part of a team, you bring a results-driven mindset and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions that align with policy objectives and community expectations. Minimum Requirements: Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience in providing project management and operational support. EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend, and coordinate generation, storage, and network infrastructure projects.
